What is this about?

Local Working Groups are composed of agricultural producers, owners/operators of nonindustrial private forest land, professionals representing agricultural and natural resource interests, and individuals representing a variety of disciplines in the soil, water, wetland, plant, forestry, and wildlife sciences who are familiar with agricultural and natural resource issues in the local community.

It’s that time – NRCS and Hillsborough Soil and Water Conservation District are asking for your input on NRCS’ funding priorities for FY 2026.

This year we are trying to get survey results with more than one option to respond.

1) Via response to this email, the FY26 Resource Concerns ranking sheet are attached for your convenience; if you prefer to fill it and return by email ahead of time.

2) Strawberry Growers’ 2025 Agritech Conference on May 13th and 14th. We’ll be incentivizing response at the conference with a free raffle of artwork by Angie Klein Art out of Plant City.

3) We have the Resource Concerns ranking sheet posted to our website for download, and response by email.

4) At the meeting - Jeremy Ansel, NRCS’ Acting District Conservationist at this time, as well as several new invitees from the environmental professional community will be joining us. Jeremy is normally headquartered in the NRCS Sarasota Office. He’ll be tabulating the results for the State Technical Committee.
